A funny, imaginative character study of the relationship between two radically different women at an art gallery in Toronto. Patricia Rozema’s wonderful comedic drama won the Prix de la Jeunesse in Cannes.
Polly Vandersma (comedian Sheila McCarthy) plays an aspiring photographer who works for an upmarket art gallery in Toronto, run by Gabrielle, whom she is madly in love with, even though she is her exact opposite. In the meantime, Polly loses herself in imaginative daydreams in which she is more self-confident and successful than in reality.
Special Screening: On August 2, director Patricia Rozema will be present at the screening and will conduct a Q&A.
