Boys is a passionate immersion into the work of the controversial filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini. An equally extravagant and intimate monologue about the craving for love and sexuality.
Recently graduated actor Thor Braun dives with full dedication into the work of Pasolini. From his own experiences as a gay man, he enters into a dialogue with Pasolini’s poems, novels, and films, which are steeped in passionate desires: young, naked, and muscular men bathing in the Italian afternoon heat, or roaming through grassy fields under the chirping of cicadas. Through letters, scenes, and a lot of paint, Thor investigates how Pasolini’s love frenzy relates to himself and to our current times. What void was Pasolini trying to fill? And how do you relate to an artist whose work raises critical questions today?
Thor Braun started acting in films and on television at a young age, including the role of crowd favorite Chris in the successful television series Oogappels. He graduated from the ArtEZ Theatre School in 2025. Boys is his debut as a theater maker, in which he expresses his love for painting and shamelessly emotional theater. In the Theater Yearbook 24-25 by the Theaterkrant, he was named the most promising newcomer three times.
