This summer, Trans Podium returns to Paradiso. During this evening, transgender individuals will have the opportunity to let their voices be heard, both literally and figuratively, on stage. As previous editions have shown, you can expect a versatile evening with performances from participants sharing their talents: from singing and spoken word to instrumental music and other forms of performance. There is space for expression, visibility, and celebrating the sound of the voice in all its forms.
The evening takes place in the middle of Amsterdam Pride, when LGBTIQ+ organizations in the city organize a month-long series of activities centered around visibility, community, and the freedom to be yourself. This year, that period takes on an extra dimension: for the first time, WorldPride is also coming to Amsterdam, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the first same-sex marriage being performed here.

The Trans Podium is organized by Logopedie Flevoland, in collaboration with vocal coach Rik Limonard, Claire Slingerland, and Nicole Franssen. For years, the speech therapists at Logopedie Flevoland have been assisting transgender individuals with their voice transition. For many, working on their own voice is a significant step. With this initiative, these voices are literally given a place on the stage, and we celebrate the diversity of voices and stories.
Whether you sing, recite, or play an instrument, stage experience is not required. The goal is to provide a platform for you to be heard. The atmosphere at past editions has been warm, respectful, and supportive.
