In Vanishing Acts, Felix Schellekens explores those moments in life when temporality becomes palpable. Everything disappears: our surroundings change, you yourself change, and everything you try to hold onto slips through your fingers sooner or later. How do you learn to embrace the loneliness that comes with the realization that everything is constantly in motion?
Maybe you'll see me suddenly appear, so fast that I become invisible. Maybe you'll see me dancing among my invisible friends, and a song I sing will linger in your head for a long time. But, was I ever really there? Or did I only exist for a moment in your imagination? Have you already forgotten me?
Felix plays, sings, and dances along the fault lines of existence, where reality and imagination merge. His theater-making debut is an intimate and musical reflection on the inevitable disappearance and an invitation to see the beauty of change.
