Discussing "Last Night at the Telegraph Club"
Do you remember what it was like the first time in a queer bar? Did you step inside and immediately feel at home, or were nerves coursing through your body? Did you first look at the people, or were you mainly concerned with whether it was safe to be there and who could see you?
In Last Night at the Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo, you follow Lily, who is intrigued by the lesbian bar, The Telegraph Club. What follows is a search for her queer, but also her Chinese-American identity. It's a beautiful historical coming-of-age romance, set against the 1950s in America, full of the 'red-scare'.
We will discuss this book with the Lesbian Book Club online via Discord. All are welcome!
