In February 2025, the married couple Marjolein and Michelle Thijse started Lesbian Talk. What began as a hobby that got out of hand has now grown into a successful podcast with over 117,000 downloads. And during the Utrecht Queer Culture Festival, they will be recording the podcast live for the first time!

The special guests are Utrecht ladies Ans (81) and Nel (84). They have been together for an incredible 43 years and married for 13 years. Many people know them as the cheerful and striking presence at the Utrecht Canal Pride. Last year, they were also on the boat during the Utrecht Canal Pride.

During this special live broadcast, Marjolein and Michelle will talk with Ans and Nel about their lives and their love. How did they meet? Who asked whom out? What were their first dates like? Were they accepted as a lesbian couple? And how do they, in 2026, look back on their life together and the fact that they are now on a Pride boat themselves?

It will be an open, personal, and undoubtedly relatable conversation about love, growing older, being yourself, and the changes the past decades have brought.

Nel is terminally ill with vulvar cancer and has completed treatment. This makes this meeting extra special and valuable: together with Ans, she will share her story, memories, and experiences.
