This time, we’re heading to the exact middle of the Netherlands for a heart-of-the-country hike! Because nothing says balanced queer agenda like standing precisely where north, south, east, and west cancel each other out. 🧭🏳️‍🌈

Inspired by the classic “Neerlands Midden” route, this walk weaves together forests, open heath, and sandy surprises, with a cheeky extra loop through the fabulous Wekeromse Zand. Expect drifting sands and twisted pines. This hike clocks in at about 13 km: long enough to bond, flirt, and overshare, but short enough to still feel your legs the next day.

Hike Details

Distance: ~13 km (approx. 3.5h)
Start & End: Station Lunteren (circular-ish route)
Difficulty: Easy to moderate — mostly good paths, some sand, gentle elevation.
Tip: Wear layers for forest shade, sturdy shoes for sandy stretches, and bring snacks you’re willing to share (or dramatically refuse to).
