Dutch Pride Shines in Manila

The Netherlands has a new reason to celebrate as our very own Tim Küsters was crowned Mr. Gay World Intercontinental 2025 in a dazzling finale held in Manila on December 1st. The event, timed to coincide with World AIDS Day, saw representatives from around the globe compete, but it was Küsters who captured the prestigious Intercontinental title.

While Julio Spatola of Italy took home the main title of Mr. Gay World 2025, Küsters' victory is a significant achievement, placing Dutch advocacy firmly on the world stage. He was joined in the winner's circle by Paul Dennison from Great Britain (second place) and Daisuke Kawarada from Japan (third place).

More Than a Title: An Advocate for Change

For many in the Dutch LGBTQ+ community, Tim Küsters is already a well-known champion. His journey began long before this latest win, notably when he was crowned Mr. Gay Europe in 2023. Throughout his time in the spotlight, he has consistently leveraged his platform to address critical issues, focusing primarily on mental health awareness and suicide prevention within the queer community.

His work is deeply rooted in personal experience and a desire to create tangible change. You can learn more about his mission and ongoing projects on his official website.

Launching 'Voices of Strength, Faces of Pride'

Never one to rest on his laurels, Küsters is channeling the momentum from his win into a new international platform: “Voices of Strength, Faces of Pride.” This initiative is designed to give visibility to community ambassadors and showcase the diverse power and resilience of LGBTQ+ individuals globally. The project underscores the importance of representation and collaboration in building a stronger, more connected community.

In a powerful statement, Küsters shared the philosophy that drives his work:

"I have learned that visibility saves lives, awareness creates understanding and acceptance, and that collaboration is essential within our community. When we stand up and are visible, we light the way for others to do the same."

This new title provides Küsters with an even larger stage to spread his vital message of hope, strength, and the life-saving power of visibility. You can watch the exciting announcement from the Mr. Gay World 2025 finals below.
