Discover The Hague's Queer Stories

Get to know the city in a new way as its queer stories come to life during this two-hour walking tour. Guides Oskar and Marieke each bring their own unique perspective to the walks. You will discover how The Hague, as an administrative center, played a crucial role in queer activism and emancipation, and learn how men in the eighteenth century sought sexual contact with each other in unexpected places throughout the city.

The stories are anchored in The Hague but often reach far beyond the city and the country. Your stories also have a place during the walk; as a participant, you'll have the opportunity to share your own experiences. Will you join us?

Tour Details

The tour is donation-based. While similar tours can cost up to 30 euros, we believe it's important for everyone to be able to participate. Please give what you can to help us continue telling these queer stories!

Please note: Some tours are conducted in English and others in Dutch. The walks on 24 July, 8 August and 22 August are in English (guide Oskar Oonk); the walks on 29 August and 26 September are in Dutch (guide Marieke Kroneman).
