One in ten adults in the Netherlands uses drugs. Maybe your neighbor. Your colleague. Your friend. Or yourself. The number of people seeking solace in psychoactive substances is growing. Some use it as an escape, others to survive in this era with its endless stream of stimuli, expectations, and noise.

In 'Drugsmonologues,' Raymi Sambo gives the drug user a voice. Relatable people. Real stories. No judgment. They are not who you would expect, yet you know them. The neighbor who shows up fresh for work every Monday. The friend who is always there for everyone.

'Drugsmonologues' is the third performance by Raymi Sambo Maakt in a series of productions about personal and much-discussed topics. The first was 'Gendermonologues' (2023), followed by 'Sexmonologues' in 2026.
