Panel Discussion & Exhibition

The evening opens with short contributions from both organizing parties, followed by a lively panel discussion with thought-provoking statements. Additionally, special pieces from the Tilburg queer collection will be exhibited, allowing visitors to literally see how queer activism has taken shape over the years.

Panel Discussion

During the panel discussion, queer Tilburgers from different generations will engage in conversation. They will reflect on statements about activism, visibility, underexposed perspectives, and the influence of digitalization on the community and activism.

The Tilburg Queer Collection

Regionaal Archief Tilburg makes a plea for the preservation of documents. No Documents, No History. Attendees are asked to consider if they have materials at home that could be important for future research. If information about a community is not preserved, this group may not be represented in historiography.

The queer archive collection of Tilburg currently (July 2026) consists of four boxes. This is already more than it has been for years. However, there are still many gaps in this collection, such as information about lesbians, trans people, and queer people of color. By filling these gaps (think of photos, flyers, posters, or other valuable documents), we are working towards a richer and more inclusive collection that will give future generations insight into the queer history of Tilburg.
