Podium De Flux, Heroes Music Bar, and the youth group United We Shine from the De Zaanse Regenboog Foundation are organizing a free-to-enter youth party on Purple Friday, October 9th, to mark Coming Out Day.
With two live bands and the up-and-coming DJ duo RaRa, it promises to be an evening full of music, queer energy, and fun.
Everyone is welcome to celebrate that you have the right to be who you are, and to love who you want.
The program features two special young bands.
PULLETJE is a band from the Zaan region consisting of Morris, Mila, Josefien, and Dottie. For PULLETJE, there are no genres, only sweet and sour sounds that they bring into the world with joy and enthusiasm. Their music is about fun, sadness, love, and social critique. With their unique sound, they make their voices heard for their future.
FAC191 is a young post-punk trio that breathes the gloom and dreariness of the industrial suburbs. The band is named after The Haçienda Cat, which was given a catalog number. The link to the Factory label from the early days is clearly reflected in the band's driving doom vibes.
The DJ duo RaRa, formed by Roxan and Mara, originated from a shared passion for music. They will make sure everyone hits the dance floor and completes the evening.
Purple Friday is an annual day of action in education. Students wear purple clothing to show their solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community and to celebrate that everyone can be themselves.
Coming Out Day is an international day that raises awareness for being able to openly express your sexual orientation or gender identity. The day is dedicated to visibility, acceptance, and the right to be yourself.
United We Shine – together we celebrate the freedom to be yourself.
Admission is completely free!
